The ‘Gabriele d’Annunzio’ University (Università degli Studi “Gabriele d’Annunzio”, Ud’A), established in 1965 as a ‘Libera Università’ (non-state-owned university), became state-owned in 1982. Ud’A comprises thirteen Departments, five of which are organised under the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and two under the School of Economics, Business, Legal and Sociological Sciences. There are also libraries, centers, and several clubs. Ud’A offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) courses. In addition, Ud’A offers postgraduate courses including Advanced Degree Programmes, levels 1 and 2, Specialisation colleges, and specialist training courses. Now about 36.000 students are enrolled at Ud’A. Scientific research is one of the most important activities that Ud’A pursues. Ud’A is a coordinator and partner in many national European and international research projects. Ud’A has two university campuses: Chieti, the registered office of the university with the offices of the Rector and General Directorate, and Pescara. Both Campuses (Chieti and Pescara) have facilities, equipment, and educational courses. Within an urban and metropolitan setting characterised by a high degree of hospitality and comfort, the Campuses offer several chances to enjoy leisure time by organising recreational, sports, and cultural activities.
